Making and enjoying mulled cider is simple and satisfying. This recipe can be doubled if needed and you can add alcohol or serve without.
Ingredients:
1 gallon of Alstede Fresh Apple Cider
2 whole cinnamon sticks, broken in half
1/4 tsp ground allspice (can substitute whole cloves or star anise, if preferred)
Orange slices or fresh, whole cranberries for added color
Place all ingredients in a crock pot on high or if you prefer on your stove stop in a heavy bottomed pot. Simmer on high until almost boiling then reduce heat to simmer for about 15 minutes until flavors meld. Turn heat to low to keep warm and serve in mugs with citrus slice and or cranberries. Can use one whole cinnamon stick in each mug for decoration. Refrigerate unused portion.
