Ham Baked with Apple and Sweet Potato
1 center slice ham, about 12 to 16 ounces
3 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced 1/4-inch thick
2 tablespoons light brown sugar, packed
4 apples, quartered
3/4 cup hot water
Cut the ham into 4 portions. Brown the ham on both sides; place the ham into a baking dish. Spread apples and sliced sweet potatoes over ham then sprinkle with brown sugar. Add hot water. Cover and bake at 350° for about 60 minutes, or until tender. Baste occasionally while cooking. Remove the foil for the last 15 minutes. Serves 4.
